Review: Where She Went (If I Stay #2) by Gayle Forman

Where She Went by Gayle Forman

Goodreads Description:

It’s been three years since the devastating accident . . . three years since Mia walked out of Adam’s life forever.

Now living on opposite coasts, Mia is Juilliard’s rising star and Adam is LA tabloid fodder, thanks to his new rock star status and celebrity girlfriend. When Adam gets stuck in New York by himself, chance brings the couple together again, for one last night. As they explore the city that has become Mia’s home, Adam and Mia revisit the past and open their hearts to the future-and each other.

Told from Adam’s point of view in the spare, lyrical prose that defined If I Stay, Where She Went explores the devastation of grief, the promise of new hope, and the flame of rekindled romance.

Where She Went by Gayle Forman

This book was four years after the accident that killed Mia’s family. Mia is strong and very independent in this Novel. Even tho, it’s written from Adams perspective and focuses on Adams life.

I read the first one and it was hard to read for me – so this one was like putting a band-aid on a wound I guess you could say. This book was like a recovery aid from the last one – in a good way!

I love this story – I think if you read ‘if I stay’ and read this one it’s like icing on the cake. I love how both Adam & Mia grew up and moved on and become what they wanted in life – but yet something in Adams life is missing and he knows it – he just can’t figure out what. Then on a whime he decides to go to a Concert and after that his life slowly changes and for the better – he has some major self discovery moments & growth in this novel – and I love that.

This is one of my favorite books so far by Gayle Forman! It’s a love story that sticks with you and won’t let you go. I like how it Adam & Mia hash things over in the course of a evening and decide to work things out and rekindle their relationship and answers all your questions in the beginning – cause you’ll start reading it and be like WHAT?! WHY?!

I also like that it’s told in Adams point of view – the first one is told in Mia’s so it would make sense if the second Novel was told in Adams.

I’m basically gushing and this probably doesn’t help you decide if you want to read it or not but I really, really liked it. And I think I’ve become a huge fan of Gayle Forman’s writing style.

5 Out of 5 Stars
